8:20 departure, in the night of strong warm wind, no rain yet, at 5:00 thunderstorm with strong gusts and heavy rain. Around 7:30 all is over already. Tent still wet. Ride via Moritzburg, and take a look briefly at the beautiful castle, a little more hilly then downhill to Dresden. Tedious bicycle paths in the city, with excessive board stones. Reaching to the Elbe, and remain north side of the river, then set with small ferry on the left side (south). Near Königstein you have to change side again with ferry or join the main road - which I recommend instead trying to stay on the bicycle trail which isn't that comfortable at that section anymore. The hilly landscape is rocky, which begins Saxon Switzerland, I like it very much. After Schmilka, Germany / Czech Republic border, I stay on the right of the Elbe, on road 62, in Decin I notice the simple cycle path no. 2 which is the continuation of Elb bicycle path, I stay at the right side, as on the left side (west) is the main road. The bicycle train no 2 is qualitatively very different from asphalt to gravel, the latter only short sections, but annoying. Even if the bicycle path is as bad that it leads over a staircase - most stupid. Also I'm only riding slow this way. In Decin I change of Euro 10 and I get the 237 Kr - after Usti nad Labem (Labe = Elbe) very hilly and slightly off the Elbe / Labe but very beautiful views, then into the valley and into the area and then Litomerice. I ride towards Tesezin and find a supermarket (Interspar) open until 21:00. 20:05, and buy 2l Orangenlimo (without sugar as I later realize) and 1.5l water for something like 9.50 Kr or Euro 0.45, very cheap - the 2l Orangenlimo is sweetened with aspartame, only 11 calories in 1l, a joke - not good for me. Take more intuitive direction and pass by 5-6 small villages, until I come into a village that has a sign to Doksany, which is mentioned again my map. Two people give me misdirection or say it is in the south, when it's clearly in oposite of the sunset and this means in the east - anyway. I ride toward Doksany in the east and approach the small river Ohre, where I find my campsite, at 21:20. Thanks!

7:20 depature, in the night I was visited by an animal, probably a stray dog - in the morning I meet a man on a motorcycle in search of his dog, and I try to explain with hand signs that I probably encountered him, since I don't speak czech. Doksany, and on 608 which goes parallel to the highway to Prague, I reach the centre of Prague at 12:00 and eat lunch. Going to Lidl to buy some stuff: 4x Berliner Kr 3.90, 2x 1l water a Kr 4.50, a 1.5l Ice Tea Kr 7.90, 125g of cheese, total Kr 17.90 - a Magnum Ice cost 31.90 (!!) - local food very cheap, imported goods equally expensive as in Switzerland. Leaving Prague is something hard for me, it takes time until I met a cyclist which gives me the directions until I find my way to Jesenice, from where I ride on 603 and then the main road no 3 southway, somewhat hilly and very much traffic, not recommended. At Milicin the highway starts but the old road is still available which I take, after Sudomerice a Tabora I find my site. The route was more strenuous than expected, because several hills with long ascents (up to 1 hour for me). I eat a lot and drink a lot and finally wash myself - then I feel good again. Thanks!

7:10 depature, slept well, just 7km to Tabor, where I buy some food and liquids, also some small breads, which are very cheap and taste excellent. Further to Tabor, there has been a construction site, where the traffic jams and the road no 3 gets comfortable soothing because of this. Veseli nad Luzinici at the road no 24 begins with "Vienna" signs also listed until Trebon, where I buy some more liquids, 1.5l water and 2l Citro, for a total 8l to drink, then about 20km to the open border to Austria, where it is hilly again, is road no 4 or E49 from now on. It has a very warm south wind (headwind) which I have the whole day. Also, the strenuous hills in the heat, but I enjoy the beautiful scenery. I can ride all streets, no highway or bicyle ban - no heavy traffic, recommended. At 20:30 I stop and think I had enough for today - the weather is strange and is about to rain, but I stop for today. I find a site near the road behind bushes, 21:15 finally some rain comes with thunderstorm. Thanks for the long day!

8:10 departure after a night with severe thunderstorm which broad hurricane like winds for a short time, and I had to prevent the tent breaking in - in the morning all was over - had little sleep. It takes about 1 hour until everything is dry in the sun. I go back on the road no 4, about 5km until Pettendorf where bicycle ban is posted, I detour 8km direction to Tulln where I find the Donau / Danube bicycle trail - approximately 26km to Vienna, which I reach 11:30, and buy in a Hofer supermarket, enough to drink for the expected hot afternoon, the shop is not very favourable pricewise. The bike paths in the city are clearly marked on the ground, important points indicated on signs such as the Centre or the Prater, I stay only about 2 hours in the city. The buildings, whether modern or odd or old I like me very much. 14:00 I go about to leave the city, the same way, only this time the right side of the river, the bicyle trail signs are very good. Riding back to Tulln where I have a flat tire again, a thorn in the front wheel, quickly detected and patched, even before heavy rain with hail starts, overcast rain until 19:15, and find a campsite near a construction site for a new bridge over the Danube - before it starts to rain more heavily I was able to pitch the tent and put all stuff inside.
