Ascending back to the Lac de Castillion and Verdon, and ascended to Col de Toutes Aures at 1124m, about 8C temperature there, I stopped briefly to eat and then descended into the nice valley of river Galange, and continue the valley & river of Coulomp - not many places to camp in the wild - so I ended up quite close to Nice/Nizza, a place along the bicycle path.

I knew this would become a long and challenging day, because I knew which place I wanted to reach - one of the most beautiful places to camp in the wild on the coast: riding through Nice, and then hilly reaching Monte Carlo, which has incredible steep ascends (or descends depending which direction you come from), and due to a tennis event some of the roads were closed and more detour in the city - finally reached Menton, the last city or village in France, and then further to Italy and Ventimiglia, and then Imperia at rush hour, and again an ascend until I reached "my" place.

Beautiful morning with rising sun, mild temperature - stilly hilly but slowly more flat reaching Savona, a few kilometers further, at Albisola I ascend up north, from 0m elevation up to Colla del Giorno at 516m, with a few very steep passages - and at the top the weather changes, cool wind, and a bit rain even at 8C. I continue and decide to descend in the hope it gets warmer again - a few kilometers before Sassello I find a place to camp, the first place with tics as it turns out.

Misty morning, the sun comes through slowly - finally it warms up quickly and I continue to descend further to Acqui Terme, warm water sources in the city itself. A few kilometers outside I camp - as it starts to rain and the place is ok.

Rain day, exploring a bit the environment, but the near-by lake can't be reached easily with the bicycle, so I stay with my tent here.

Nice day, quite warm again, and I reach Alessandria and head to the Po, but it's not easy to get close to the river Tanaro, which later enters the river Po.

The Po plane is quite flat, and so the sunrise of this morning is beautiful and early - unlike in the more hilly or mountaineous regions I was in France - near Broni I camp near a small channel with clear water and take the chance to wash again some cloths and let it dry in the late but strong afternoon sun.
