3 Days Hike: Goms / Oberwallis

A high pressure system developed over Switzerland providing stable sunny and rather warm weather and I took the opportunity to hike a region I knew from an earlier bicycle/recumbent tour 10+ years ago, and I thought to hike the Goms / Oberwallis, starting at Oberwald toward Brig along the Rhone/Rotten river.

Taking the train Zug - Andermatt - Oberwald and starting the hike ~10:00 at chilly temperature, and barely sunlight, as the part of the trail remained in the shadow until 13:00 or, and temperature around 5°C to 10°C, and in the afternoon climbing to mild 20°C - rather wide valley to Muenster, Goms, and around Biel I find a nice spot for tonight - still some sunlight and mild temperatures.

Chilly night, near freezing temperature at early morning, waiting a bit and at 9:15 packing and depature, the leaves on the ground frozen - the tent is wet while I pack it. Finally at 11:00 I reach a place with sunlight at Niederwald, and the temperature jumps to mild 15°C.

The rest of the day I pretty much have direct sunlight and mild temperature, until 16:00 when I find a place aside the trail (no photos), and experience the brief sunset.

Milder temperature in the night due lower elevation at ~950m, and leave late at 10:30 and descend steadily through the forest to Moerel, where the hike ends around 12:00.

While I experienced chilly temperature in the morning and sunny mild 20°C in the afternoon the past days, northern part of Switzerland experienced fog overcast all day long at 10-14°C.
