3 Days Hike Bivio - Septimerpass - Andeer

Revisiting Bivio again, but explore another valley over Septimberpass down the Averse valley.

Arriving in Bivio, which I visited last week, and this time a mild ascend to Septimerpass 2310m - and then ascend further apprx. 100Hm to find my spot for tonight.

During the night some rain, and in the distance some thunderstorm - 9:30 deparature further up to Forcellina Pass 2672m - quite windy, and the sky overcast quickly - some breakfast. Along the slope further, until I descend and brief rain for 10min and ~10C. Once I arrived at the valley ground the sky starts to clear slowly and getting warmer, and approach Juf, a small "village", just a few houses at 2125m with public transportation connection. Further to Juppa, Puert and then switch side again of the Averse Rhein, and around Cresta I ascend slighty into the forest on the other side and descend, and short before Croet, I spot a picnic place, with some water source and settle for that spot.

Approach Croet ~9:45 and further descend along the valley of Averse and Averse Rhein; partially on the old road of Averse, incredible steep and high cliffs along the river, near Punt di Val di Lei. Reaching Innerferrera and then Ausserferrera and then left-hand side of the river quite a lot of young people training climbing on the small boulders; the hiking path unusually difficult in this section, after near Schmelza the path continue close to the street. After Rofflaschlucht/Roffla Canyon, where the highway from St. Bernadino and Averse valley join, I enter the forest of Baerenburg; just to enjoy the region for another night.

Early leaving the place 7:30, and descend through the beautiful forest and soon enter the village of Andeer, quick shopping and then taking fast bus (with few stops) ~9:00 to Chur, and then continue with train back home.

The Septimerpass was unassuming, as it's a mild ascend, yet, the sight from there into the Val di Bregaglia and the mountain range of ~3000m peaks like Piz Bacun, Cima di Castello in the distance was an impressive sight. The canyon around Ausserferrera has been stunning, and I tried to imagine how the road was build originally, as there was little support for anything, and one has to be bootstrap any kind of stability to even start to build a road - and surely difficult to traverse at early time of exploration of the valley of Averse.
