2 Days Hike: Praettigau (Klosters - Landquart)

The Praettigau is a valley from Klosters to Gruesch, the narrow passage at Chlus ends the Praettigau, and adjescant to the Rhein valley at Chur. The river down the Praettigau is called Landquart, and ends in Landquart village when it enters the Rhein. Klosters (1200m) is a bit below of famous Davos (1560m).

Taking the train up to Klosters Platz 11:30, nearby some skiers are coming down on prepared snow slope/trail in the forest, close to the trainstation, and me starting with the backpack descending further - apprx. 15°C, northwind. In the back the mighty snow covered mountains, along the Landquart river, some impressive bridge close to Klosters - the pillars actually are prepared for climbing, neat feature. At 1000m elevation most trees aren't yet showing their new leaves, so it's still pre-spring. After Kueblis, I find a small spot next to the river, pitching the tent early, ~16:00.

Long sleep, chilly temperatures, apprx. 2-3°C, but as soon the sun rises, the air temperature jumps to ~15°C and in the sunlight above 20°C. For the first time on this hike I have to ascend to Strahlegg, as the valley is very narrow, further to Fideris, a small beautiful village, descending further to Pragg, and walking on the older street which has barely any traffic - and after the valley opens again reaching Schiers, and continue along the river.

I decide to end the hike today, so I continue further, the valley narrows again, tightly: river, old street, new street and train track - side by side. After the narrow passage, I left the valley of Praettigau, and enter the Rheinebene and approach soon then Landquart village, where this hike ends, ~15:20.
