2 Days Hike: Melchtal - Flueli-Ranft - St. Jakob

While looking for a short route to hike, I remembered to visit Flueli-Ranft, a regional "holy" place associated with the local saint "Bruder Klaus" aka "Niklaus von der Flueh".

Taking the train to Stans and from there bus to Melchtal Dorf.

I rest for an hour at this place, and continue 15:00 further along the canyon behind the trees, and continue to Kerns, a small village, and soon reach Chernwald, a beautiful forest, very dense and a lot of shadow. And find a fine spot on a small hill within the forest for tonight.

Very good sleep, and I stay in the tent to extend the nap - but since the forest is so dense, the sun won't brightend up and so I drift until 11:30. As I was trying out new hiking shoes, more precisely some lighteight hiking sandals, I've got blisters later in the afternoon yesterday - something which has not happened to me for the past years as I used trecking/running shoes as "hiking shoes", very comfortable and soft shoes, the sandals are more breathable now in summer time, but should have used my socks and not wear them barefeet at first day right away - lesson learned.

I kept this day short, as it didn't make sense to hike with the blisters a few more hours until late of afternoon. Taping the blisters helped, if I were on a longer hiking trek I would insert a rest day, or tape the blisters carefully or even switch the shoes.
