4 Days Hike: Strada Alta (Airolo - Pollegio/Biasca)

Leaving the train ~10:00 in Airolo, and I face warm stormy north wind, much warmer than expected, and instead to hike at the base of the Leventina I decide to go the higher elevation trail called Strada Alta. So, reaching Altanca soon, below Lago Ritom, and further Ronco, Deggio, Lurengo, and around the edge before Freggio I find a nice spot for tonight - still warm wind. The opposite side of the valley, the mountains still snow covered down to 1500m, whereas me near 1400mm experience 15-20C during the day.

Good sleep, early about 5°C, the sun reaches the tent early - special moment with the sun behind some thin layered clouds. Reaching Freggio soon, Osco, Calpionga, Rossura and Tengia - further Calonico and decide to find a spot for tonight before reaching Anzonico, so after Prato Bello I find a nice spot.

Mild night, ~8°C during the night, longer sleep, ~9:45 I depart and reach Anzonico, and further to Cavangago, and Sobrio - a nice path with steep cliffs, one has to be very cautious every step, especially there were brooks wet the ground. Small hamlets string along the hiking path/trail, and short before Diganengo, in the forest, looks like an old hamlet without houses but still terraces built with stones I pitch my tent, a bit in the shade of the afternoon.

During the night visit from a group of deers, coming close to the tent to inspect me, the ground full of leafs giving exact sound how fast and deep each leg touches on the ground. 7:00 awake and leaving 8:00, more hamlets along the path, very narrow path and I wonder how they transported all the materials. Then steep descend starts from 763m down to ~300m, I go slow so it takes me ~50min to descend those 400Hm down, and enter immediately Pollegio village, where this hike ends.

Unlike anticipated, at 1500m elevation mild 5°C at night and 15°C during the day, and later up to 20-25°C - warm winds from the valley up to the trail, from 12-15°C in the shade vs. 25°C in the sun and warm wind, feels like a fast change between spring and summertime within 200-300m path.
